During Innovations 2010, Judy Irish & Cindy Roth gave a special presentation (the word "class" is too formal for what they did) to Innovations Members. This nearly two hour presentation was recorded and now the whole quilting world can see how much FUN this class was! Judy Irish is a FABULOUS and ARTISTIC quilter and she shows many of her quilts in this video. You will be AMAZED at what she can do with a quilting machine! Both Judy and Cindy talk about their "quilting journeys", their quilting lives and much, much more!

Longarm Appliqué and Embellishment

Have you ever considered using that wonderful longarm machine for more than just quilting?  Have you ever loaded your quilt and thought that something was missing?  Come and learn this exciting technique for applying appliqué pieces to your quilts using your longarm before or after you've begun quilting.  We will explore unusual fabrics that do not ravel and beautiful free-hand quilting stitches that will serve as both your appliqué stitch and your quilting!  You will also discover how to make your quilts truly dance with the additional of fibers applied with your longarm.

You will discover where you can find inspiration in unexpected places and how you can begin creating your own eye-catching original designs that will perfectly fit your quilting space.  She will then demonstrate using a longarm machine how she executes her award winning techniques from motifs to fillers to grid work.  You will also come away with a multitude of hints and tips for using decorative threads, creating balance, and setting up your machine for custom quilting.

Easy Breezy Background Fills and All Over Designs

Are you tired of just plain stippling?  So you want to offer your customers some new and different designs?  In this class Lisa will quilt a sampler of 20+ freehand (quick and easy) background fills and designs, many of which are suitable for overall background fillers and edge to edge quilting.  Lisa will also show you her favorite overall edge to edge design, and also show you how to combine designs to create exciting backgrounds.  You will never meander again!  this will make an excellent design sampler to show off your background filler designs to all your customers.  A handout of designs will be provided.  Be ready to look at background designs differently when it comes time to quilt.  Lisa will also talk about the different type threads she uses for backgrounds, her favorite battings and why.
