Teacher Comment Program

Due to the overwhelmingly positive responses to the Teacher Comment Program introduced last year, Innovations 2008 will again offer quilt show entrants feedback about their quilts from the Innovations teachers.

Innovations is a peer judged quilt show and has no “formal” judging. Many quilt show judges are unfamiliar with the intricacies or mechanics of machine quilting, especially longarm/shortarm quilting. Because of this, Innovations purposely does not have “formal” judging of the quilt show.

The Innovations teachers have volunteered to make comments on the quilts hanging in the Innovations Quilt Show.  The Teacher Comment Program is another way the Innovations teachers are committed to making the event the best educational experience possible for all participants. It is our goal to have at least two teacher comments for each quilt in the quilt show.

Each Teacher participating in this program will be given a Quilt Comment Form for each of their assigned quilts. They will have the opportunity to view the quilts during the Quilt Show and make their comments. The Teacher Comments will be held in a secure area until the end of the Quilt Show and will be available to the quilt owner when the quilt is picked up at the conclusion of the Quilt Show or will be included in the box if a quilt is to be shipped back to its owner.

We at Innovations wish to thank our teachers who are volunteering their time and for their enthusiastic support of the Teacher Comment Program.
